  • Torsion BarTorsion Bar
    Re-stressing allows bars to have greater elastic twist angle and hence more wheel travel. It also drastically reduces bar settling eliminating a need for a racer to bounce a car up and down in order for it to settle at the correct height. During pre-stressing the bars are twisted within the plastic shear zone over a specific angle, unloaded and repeated two more times. The Torsion bars’ strain curves are carefully monitored during the procedure. The procedure causes compressed residual stresses at the outer boundary of a bar increasing its yield strength. Ultimately, this saves time and, more importantly, conditions the bar for immediate on-track use in while also increasing the bars overall longevity.

    Torsion Bars should be installed so that they always twist in the same direction. The bars retain a memory of the direction they are twisting, if they are twisted in the opposite direction the spring rate will be compromised and the bar could fracture. For this reason its always a good idea to mark the torsion bars to ensure they are used in the correct corner of the car.

    With certain diameter Strange Oval axles, you’ll need to replace your inboard axle seals to accommodate the smaller axle diameters (O.D’s). Otherwise, you’ll be getting your rear end fluid into your axle tubes. We supply a very well made economical purpose-built 2 stage inboard axle seals for all of our smaller O.D. axles. We asked SEALS-IT to provide these seals to us. SEALS-IT has been supplying NASCAR teams with various seals for over 20 years and it’s all they do. These are 2 stage axle seals that have been designed with minimal drag. Here are the seals available: # AGS094 fits axle (O.D.) diameters from 0.940” to 1.100” # AGS110 fits axle (O.D.) diameters from 1.100” to 1.200”

    Solid axles in reduced diameter for IMCA Style B-Mods & Sport-Mods (.940” & .960”) We’ve specifically identified the axle torque output within the various classes of mid-west dirt modifieds and have created axle diameter choices (in both solid and gun-drilled axles) by calculating the axle torque and considering the tire compound and track conditions in order to best enhance the KERA “Wrap Axle” Technology by optimizing the most traction and throttle steer. Axles are now available in diameters that range from .940” to 1.130” (thicker diameters available for bigger HP cars).
