    With a weight savings of up to 1 ¾ lbs. as compared to the standard "Daytona" cast iron pinion retainers, Strange Oval produces 2 variations of billet steel pinion retainers. While lighter in weight, our pinion retainers maintain a lower axial and radial deflection rate improvement of 20% over the cast iron counterpart. By reducing pinion deflection, the Strange Oval pinion retainers improve gear life
      • 4140 pre heat treated steel provides increased strength and stability over cast iron
      • Precision bearing bore alignment and concentricity for better overall gear efficiency
      • Has constant bearing spacing for easier and more accurate preload set up
      • Has splash type lubrication features as well. Does not have to be pressure fed

    Used in conjunction with Strange Oval axles, our spline tolerances, between the axle splines and drive plate splines, is usually tighter and more uniform. These “closely mated” tolerances will provide better spline life of both the axles and drive plates. Strange Oval offers several steel drive plates that will accommodate a camber range of zero to 4 degrees. Depending on where your current rules regarding allowable camber lies (if any)
      • Nickel Chromium Molybdenum steel for excellent hardenability, strength, and toughness to provide good spline wear and drive flange longevity
      • FEA (Finite Element Analysis) analyzed lightweight scalloped and pocketed design
      • Dry film solid lubricant applied to insert gear to prevent galling and increase lubricity
      • Marquenching heat-treat processing reduces distortion and residual stress
      • electropolishing enhances surface finish especially beneficial on the spline flanks for reduced friction, reduced wear, and lower operating temperatures
    • Broached splines promote consistent fit and misalignment angle
    • 2 piece drive plate #ADC102 can be run with standard crowned spline axles and can accommodate 0 to 3.5 degrees of camber with the articulating splined insert. This drive plate must be used with the standard crowned splined axles (not straight splined axles – see drive plate ADC102)

  • Solid axles in reduced diameter for IMCA Style B-Mods & Sport-Mods (.940” & .960”) We’ve specifically identified the axle torque output within the various classes of mid-west dirt modifieds and have created axle diameter choices (in both solid and gun-drilled axles) by calculating the axle torque and considering the tire compound and track conditions in order to best enhance the KERA “Wrap Axle” Technology by optimizing the most traction and throttle steer. Axles are now available in diameters that range from .940” to 1.130” (thicker diameters available for bigger HP cars).

    • This Strange Oval drive plate ADW520 consists of an all-steel housing and a tempered steel splined insert that articulates within the steel housing and allows for up to 2 degrees of rear camber adjustment. This drive plate is specifically for the 5-Lug, WIDE-5 hub applications. Used in conjunction with Strange Oval axles, our spline tolerances (between the axle splines and drive plate splines) are tighter and more uniform. These “closely mated” tolerances will provide better spline life of both the axles and drive plates. Strange Oval drive plates will work with virtually every 24-spline outboard axle end on the market.
